About Nordic House

Nordic House was set up as part of the Danish Church in 2019 with the aim of broadening the audience to embrace community, cultural and corporate activities.

Almost immediately its plans to develop a vibrant programme of events were hit by the Covid pandemic but they were revived as the community opened up again and Nordic House was at last able to start promoting the opportunities which are available in its spacious, stylish facilities.

Nordic House is established as a regular participant in Heritage Open Days, which every year showcases the region’s historic buildings and their artefacts.

The centre is also becoming increasingly popular as a venue for community and cultural events. These have ranged from live music performances, plays and exhibitions to quizzes, lunches and workshops.

Nordic House is also in demand as a venue for health and wellbeing activities and fitness classes among community groups, for meetings to discuss community issues and for politicians to meet local residents. We have hosted meetings by business groups and we have also provide space for businesses to present training sessions, helping to generate employment opportunities for local people.

The building still operates as a church but the work of Nordic House has enabled it to offer greater versatility. We are able to offer our space for hire for religious services and ceremonies and for a wide range of family, social, cultural, corporate and community events.

Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and book a visit to view our fantastic space and facilities.
